# 399 - March 26th, 2014

Greetings one and all – if you are sitting comfortably then I shall begin…        The Old Buzzard is particularly ornery this week, along with many other Valley folks, and justifiably so. He has much to say so let’s get the Public Service Announcements (P.S.A.’s) out of the way first and then invite him to speak…

Calendars and pens at the ready… # 986 - RESDA’s (Redwood Empire Sheep Dog Association) first sheep dog trial of the year takes place this Saturday, March 22 at the Johnson Ranch at the corner of Hwy 128 and Hwy 123 just south of Boonville. Members of the public are welcome and the action gets started around 9.30pm and will go for three or four hours so feel free to stop by at any time and watch humans and dogs working together as good as it gets… #987 - The Winemaker dinner to benefit the A.V. Housing Association is on Saturday, March 29. This will be at Scharffenberger Cellars at 6.30pm. Call 895-3525 for more information… #988 - The Community Singing at Lauren’s is also this coming Saturday, March 29 at 8.30pm. Go along and sing-along - you will know lots of the songs - I guarantee it!... #989 - The Barn Sale returns in less than two weeks time for its usual spring, summer, and fall run after a four-month hiatus. This takes place at The St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church Refectory on A.V. Way just north of Boonville from 9am to 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6… #990 - The Vets will not be making any more visits to the Valley this month. However, they will be here on two Thursdays next month - April 10 and 24…

As a bonus P.S.A. here is the menu for the Community lunches over the next week at the Senior Center at the Veterans Hall in Boonville… The Center asks for a $6 donation from Seniors and charges $7 for Non-Seniors… Tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, the lunch, always served by Marti Titus and her crew at 12.15pm, will be Joe’s Chili, Cornbread, Salsa, Cheese, Quinoa salad, Broccoli salad, and Cinnamon Roll cake for dessert … Then next Tuesday, April 1, the menu will feature sheep eye soup, squashed squirrel pie, and skunk brownies for dessert… Ah! April Fool!... It will actually be Meatloaf, Mashed potatoes with gravy, Peas & Carrots, Rolls, Quinoa Salad, and Birthday Cup Cakes... Remember, all ages are welcome!... Hope to see you there…

O.K. now let’s discuss both the Winery and Whinery News in tandem, as reported by The Old Buzzard for his weekly column ‘Signs that the Apocalypse is Approaching’ …

“I am writing this in a sleep-deprived state of anger… The Valley is in uproar. Everybody is talking about it. I refer to the noise pollution produced by the fans used at various wineries to protect their vines against frost. ‘Is that a helicopter landing in my yard’ is the most common question heard around the Valley since ‘When is someone going to feed Ken Allen to the pigs?’ Many further comments are all over Facebook as local folks have being kept awake, night after night, for the past week or so.

“For us up at The Nest in the Deep End we have been talking about this problem for a number of years and now that Valley folks in other parts further inland are being affected it is finally getting the attention and criticism this practice deserves. Turkey Vulture and I have long protested the anti-social and self-serving actions of Golden Eye Winery, our local branch of minions to the Duckhorn Dynasty and I have had many folks talk to me about this over the past week or so and it shows no sign of abating.

“The vines have recently had ‘bud-break’ and the frosty nights are with us. The result of this combination is that certain wineries are turning on their helicopter-like fans for several hours every night and in certain areas of the Valley sleep is near impossible. One of the worst offenders, yet again, is the aforementioned Golden Nose Winery, whose Narrows Vineyard just south of Floodgate has the loudest fans of all - and I say that not just because they are less than a mile from The Nest where Turkey Vulture, Hummingbird, myself, and others of our ilk reside. The fans at the Narrows are acknowledged by anyone who has heard them to be the loudest in the Valley. In fact, even folks in-the-know at the Golden Mouth Winery have admitted to this!

“It should certainly be pointed out however that this year they are not the only ones committing this anti-social ‘crime.’ This past week has also witnessed sleepless nights endured by folks in the heart of Philo and even Boonville, courtesy of vineyards in those parts of the Valley who shall remain nameless for others to mention elsewhere. The best way of protest is to call in at the tasting room of your nearest offender and collect your earplugs and case of wine that they are surely handing out free of charge as some sort of peace offering for their invasive behavior.

“Having starting out in the Valley a decade or so ago under a cloud of corporate irresponsibility you’d think Golden Ear would try to avoid such ill-feeling. In fact at times in recent years they have reached out and somewhat ingratiated themselves to the community. But, no - here they go again… And I’m not even going to mention their past indiscretions such as desecrating historic Native Indian sites or their other recently reported ‘misdemeanor’ of taking water from the local creek that has little water - protested against by former A.V.A. editor David Severn outside the winery gates just a week ago. I am talking about a particularly Machiavellian winery here, and I don’t care if it means I have to forego my tipple of their splendid Pinot as a form of protest, one which I urge you to join me and others in making…

“Whilst most wineries now use water for frost protection, Golden Neck continue with these fans at this particular vineyard, although they have said they will replace them in the next year or two with water from the reservoir they recently installed - filled up with water from an almost dry creek perhaps? In the meantime, for the many folks having to endure this severe noise pollution, it is a case of ‘deal with it.’ As for those annoying people who say it is just part of living in an agricultural area - give me a break. These folks either work for the wineries in question or do not live within the range of the noise pollution or they would not be uttering such gibberish. Surely the wineries have a morale obligation to have as little affect on their neighbors as possible and this act of selfishness is far from achieving that. Besides, I am reliably informed that while they have some rights under the law, they are not allowed to add fans wherever they wish and if it’s deemed that such an addition has led to an unreasonable situation then local residents also have rights.

“The main point is that there are alternatives. They may cost money but if anyone has plenty of that it is Golden Wallet / Duckhorn and the other offending wineries. A case of the wine produced at The Narrows goes for $960! Yes, $80 for a bottle of their 2010 Pinot. What a joke! We local residents are trying to get some hard-earned sleep and they get $80 a bottle for preventing us from doing so! Do I really have to go and picket the home of Dan Duckhorn, the almighty leader at Duckhorn Wines and its subsidiary here in the Valley - Golden Ass, and play my Black Sabbath collection at full volume in the middle of the night to get a little understanding?

Before I finish with this particularly disturbing ‘Sign that the Apocalypse is Approaching,’ I should share with you the following statement on Golden Scrotum’s web site that is dripping with unintended irony… ‘The diverse population and landscape of the Mendocino coast of California provides the winery with a remarkable amount of opportunity to make a difference in our local community.’ I couldn’t possibly comment other than to say, ‘Pass the sick bag, Bruce.’

“Apparently the Narrows Vineyard does not produce many grapes so one could be forgiven for suggesting they just pull them up and re-start with a neighbor-friendly frost protection system installed. However, the powers-that-be at Golden Penis have a high regard for the Pinot Noir produced at The Narrows and of course at the end of the day that is the most important thing so what do they care? Well, perhaps they could consider turning on the fans at a lower temperature, say 25 degrees instead of 28? Or even just leave them off all together and see what happens. This kind of thinking is probably not the kind they like and as Mr. Dan Duckhorn enjoys a deep sleep in his mansion many miles from the Valley it is probably the last thing on his mind. However, if anyone wishes to call him to let him know how his or her sleepless night is going, his home number is… (Continued on page 74)…

Very interesting and informative, Buzzard. I hope you have success with your protest. I too shall be boycotting Golden Eye wines and urge readers to do so also until something is done to reduce the effects of the distressing current situation… Meanwhile, for your Quote of the Week, let’s go with some classics on the role of big business and corporations in society. First, this observation by Henry Ward Beecher (1813-1887), the American Congregationalist clergyman, social reformer, and speaker, known for his support of the abolition of slavery, who said, “The commerce of the world is conducted by the strong, and usually it operates against the weak”… Even industrialist Henry Ford (1863-1947) - yes that Henry Ford, weighed in with a momentary thought of altruism when he commented, “A business that makes nothing but money is a poor kind of business”… The Irish novelist, Oliver Goldsmith (1730-1774), observed, “Honor sinks where commerce long prevails”… But perhaps the most meaningful of them all are these words from one of the great men of history, Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869-1948), who so very wisely, yet fairly, stated, “It is difficult but not impossible to conduct strictly honest business. What is true is that honesty is incompatible with the amassing of a large fortune”…

Oh, dear, have we upset somebody? Should I get my coat and leave? No - not likely with all the folks who support the Old Buzzard on this issue. See you on the picket lines!... Until we talk again – ‘Keep the Faith’; be careful out there; stay out of the ditches; think good thoughts; and may your god go with you… Oh, and of course, one final request, “Let us prey”… Humbly yours, Turkey Vulture……

# 398 - March 19th, 2014

Greetings one and all – if you are sitting comfortably then I shall begin… Well, as I am sure nobody is aware, in two weeks time, on these very pages, the 400th Turkey Vulture column will appear! Obviously there will be parades and celebrations throughout the western world, or at least the western end of Anderson Valley up at The Nest. In anticipation of this event (and with little else to report on this week), I thought it might be very mildly interesting to re-print a few observations taken from that very first column. It appeared in the A.V.A. on November 24, 2004, and it would seem that for as much change as we have seen over the past decade, many things remain the same…

‘Valley dwellers and those beyond….. As I travel in and around the beautiful Anderson Valley I am able to observe all sorts of weird and wonderful goings-on from my bird's eye view…Many sightings are strange yet true and my interpretations of them may well appear cruel but hopefully fair and just…You be the judge……

Just this past week I was witness to a delightful Monday evening at the local hostelry, The Buckhorn Saloon. As always the beers were excellent and this was not just the opinion of those who produce them - The A.V. Brewery Crew, who were there in force, but also those of many others who were in attendance. There was much eating, drinking and merry-making as Monday Night Football played on the t.v's. and, to complement the ales, the bar provided free snacks including some delicious bacon and cheese on potato skins and plates of spicy nachos. A fine time was had by all, added to by a smiling face behind the bar - always a pleasant bonus…Well done to owner Diana Charles and the Gang, thanks for a fun evening…

The following day, I stopped by The Farm Supply to pick up some animal supplies and keep my appointment for my aging and injured dog with Dr Katy Summers from the Mendocino Animal Hospital. She, or one of her fellow vets, is at this venue almost every Tuesday afternoon (2pm - 3.30pm; call to confirm) and a marvelous job they do too!  It is a vital service to many people in the Valley and the care, knowledge, and genuine concern of Katy and the other vets are second to none. Their cause is aided and abetted by the animal-loving Nancy and Dave Gowan who do a splendid job of their own in owning and operating the Farm Supply and should be thanked for providing this venue for the vets to perform their magic.

As I made my way to the coast along Highway 128 on a rainy day a couple of weeks ago, I and many others found ourselves hindered in the desire to drive at a safe but efficient 45 mph by a 'stranger in a strange land' (a tourist) who insisted on a 25 mph speed. He was in a nifty little sports car and being right behind him I could make out his middle-aged appearance chattering away to a much younger woman at his side in the passenger seat. The road was slick and overtaking somewhat perilous yet as we passed numerous turnouts he refused to pull over and I watched as he continued to regale his 'friend' with no doubt fascinating tales. Finally, with seven cars behind me I had to make a move and on a stretch of road where visibility into the distance was clear I made my move. As I went by I gave him my old 'vulture' stare and a look of incredulity. Predictably, not wishing to be 'questioned' in front of the friend, the man 'bravely' flipped me off!…… What is it with these folks who, whilst they are entitled to drive at any speed they wish, seem to think that everyone else has to… and then when their annoying behavior is pointed out to them they react in this way? As I often say, to those few who listen, the road is a place where one is often thrown into some sort of confrontational interaction with people one would never normally have anything to deal with in one's daily routine...

Last Sunday afternoon, a good friend of mine and I were ruminating about ruminants (i.e. thinking deeply about sheep) as we relaxed on a hilltop above Yorkville surveying the valley below. He clearly had a topic of some concern on his mind and as we each popped open a can of Guinness he turned to me and said," TV (his short for Turkey Vulture), have you ever wondered why they call them sheep-herders or shepherds when they actually work with flocks of sheep not herds?"…. Before I could come up with some sort of witty reply he added, " I guess 'sheep flockers' was never going to stick"… He is a wise man.

Election hangover…Hanging out the other day in my nest high above the Valley, while still finding myself somewhat astonished by the actual election results and Bush’s re-election, I was not at all surprised to hear certain viewpoints from those entrusted with the upcoming four years of leadership in this country. Now I do not wish to get too political in my musings, and I rarely will, but some things just have to be commented on. For instance, the new senator for Oklahoma has called for not just the outlawing of abortion but for the death penalty for doctors who break such a law…Another new senator, from South Carolina, has said single mothers and homosexuals should not teach in schools…And a third new senator, from South Dakota, is a creationist and no doubt looks forward to the day when such theories appear in schoolbooks…. Whatever your beliefs, surely these extreme convictions are no way to mend a wounded and divided country and one can only hope that the inevitable attempts to introduce such radical conservative social policies into law are unsuccessful… But what do I know? - I'm just a simple Turkey Vulture in the country with Valley 'stuff' to prey upon…..’

Ahh, that was fun… Onward… Public Service Announcements (P.S.A.’s)… Calendars and pens at the ready… #689 - The A.V. Historical Society’s annual meeting at The Grange is on Sunday, March 23 at 1pm. This year’s program will feature a short talk by Valerie Hanelt about the cemeteries in the Valley and will be followed with a presentation in photographs and words by Valley historian Wes Smoot and his co-author Steve Sparks on their upcoming book - ‘Anderson Valley Buildings and Homes - Then and Now’… #690 - The Vets will not be making any more visits to the Valley this month. However, they will be here on two Thursdays next month - April 10 and 24… #691 - The Community Singing at Lauren’s is this coming Saturday, March 29 at 8.30pm. Go along and sing-along - you will know lots of the songs - I guarantee it!... #692 - The Winemaker dinner to benefit the A.V. Housing Association is also on Saturday, March 29. This will be at Scharffenberger Cellars at 6.30pm. Call 895-3525 for more information…
As a bonus P.S.A. here is the menu for the Community lunches and dinners over the next week at the Senior Center in the Veterans Hall in Boonville… The Center asks for a $6 donation from seniors for both lunches and dinners and charges $7 for Non-seniors for lunches and $8 for the dinners… Tomorrow, Thursday, March 20, the lunch, always served by Marti Titus and her crew at 12.15pm, will be Sausage Skillet, Pasta, Cabbage, Apple Spinach Salad, Quinoa Salad, and Triple Layer Mud Pie for dessert… Then next Tuesday, March 25th, the dinner menu, served at 6pm, will feature Chicken Enchiladas, Rice, Refried Beans, Corn, Orange Gelatin, Salsa, Tabbouleh Salad, and Dessert Nachos... Remember, all ages are welcome!... Hope to see you there…

Moving quickly on to a few of the topics and Valley events under discussion this week at The Three-Dot Lounge – yes it’s “Moans, Groans, Good Thoughts, and Rampant (and surprisingly reliable) Rumors” from my favorite gathering place in the Valley where people get together and share their thoughts about life in A.V.…

… I was among the sixty or so folks who attended last Saturday’s graveside ceremony in Boonville in honor of the late Joyce Murray. Grieving husband Ross was surrounded by family members and friends and was in surprisingly good spirits despite the inner grieving that is undoubtedly going on at the loss of his ‘best friend’… I know he will miss her terribly and her passing is a loss to many local folks too…

… The St. Patrick Day celebration dinner at the Fairgrounds in Boonville on Saturday evening to benefit the A.V. Senior Center was a very enjoyable event with over 100 folks in attendance. The food was good and somewhat Irish-like, the drinks flowed steadily, and the cake auction a big success, ably called by Auctioneer W. Dan with Robert Lindsay’s ‘world famous’ mud-pie fetching the highest bid of $50… And may I just add that the efforts put in by the Senior Center Board month after month are second to none, and one hopes the seniors appreciate them!...

I’m outta here… So, until we talk again – ‘Keep the Faith’; be careful out there; stay out of the ditches; think good thoughts; Oh, and of course, one final request, “Let us prey”… Humbly yours, Turkey Vulture…

# 397 - March 12th, 2014

Greetings one and all – if you are sitting comfortably then I shall begin… Well, ‘The Turkey Vulture has landed’ as someone very famously once said… And I very pleasantly shocked to see how green everything is! When I left these shores a few short weeks ago all was brown and dry. You must have had a real soaking, and not before time - no doubt everyone got great use out of his or her umbrellas!?
With this in mind, it would be remiss of me not to take the opportunity for some more comments on the weather - in the form of your Quotes of the Week… Here we go… First let’s bring in the Bard for this classic from ‘Macbeth,’ “So foul and fair a day I have not seen” … And it is always worth mentioning words from Charles Dudley Warner, the American essayist and friend of Mark Twain, who wisely said, “Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it”… Equally as accurate is this comment from English novelist Jerome K. Jerome who opined, “We shall never be content until man makes his own weather and keeps it to himself”… But ultimately, for perhaps the most insightful remark of all, we must return to Shakespeare who, when writing about the extremely miserable weather conditions confronting his King Lear, describes a scene in the play of that name as “A naughty night to be naked in”… I think we can all relate…

Onward… Public Service Announcements (P.S.A.’s)… Calendars and pens at the ready… #684 - For those so inclined, the monthly Community Drum Session is this evening Wednesday, March 12 at The Grange – contact Rob 3897 or Andy 3020 for further details… #685 - The Vets from the Mendocino Animal Hospital will be in town at the A.V. Farm Supply on just one occasion this month - tomorrow, Thursday March 13. Call 462-8833 for further details. They set up at that location from 2pm to 3.30pm and to avoid a line perhaps go around 3pm - you will definitely be seen. New customers and their pets are always welcome, and perhaps support our local farm supply while you’re there. The vets’ next Valley visit will not be until April 10… #686 - The ‘Open Mic’ at Lauren’s Restaurant in Boonville takes place on the 3rd Saturday of every month and that means this coming Saturday, March 15 at 9pm. All are welcome - musicians, singers, poets, writers, impressionists, magicians, comedians, actors, fire-eaters, pole dancers, sword swallowers, ventriloquists, raconteurs, exotic dancers, animal callers, etc. No clowns - apparently they would scare any kids who might be there, and no mimes, please - they scare me!… #687 - It’s that time again - St. Patrick’s Day! The Senior Center Dinner to celebrate the occasion is on Saturday, March 15 in the Apple Hall in Boonville with a happy hour at 5.30pm and dinner served at 6.30pm. Call 895-3609 for further details… #688 - And on St. Patrick’s day itself, Monday, March 17, local ‘jack-of-all-trades’ Jeff Burroughs and his band, The Usual Suspects, will be playing live at The Buckhorn accompanied by the appropriate dinner menu of corned beef and cabbage etc, with specials on both Guinness and Jameson’s Irish Whiskey … #689 - The A.V. Historical Society’s annual meeting at The Grange is on Sunday, March 23 at 1pm. This year’s program will feature a short talk by Valerie Hanelt about the cemeteries in the Valley and will be followed with a presentation in photographs and words by Valley historian Wes Smoot and his co-author Steve Sparks on their upcoming book - ‘Anderson Valley Buildings and Homes - Then and Now’…
As a bonus P.S.A. here is the menu for the Community lunches over the next week at the Senior Center at the Veterans Hall in Boonville… The Center asks for a $6 donation from Seniors and charges $7 for Non-Seniors… Tomorrow, Thursday, March 13, the lunch, always served by Marti Titus and her crew at 12.15pm, will be Vegetable Beef soup, Garlic bread, Ferro salad, with Strawberry Whip for dessert … Then next Tuesday, March 18, the menu will feature Salisbury steak, Mashed potatoes, Peas, Rolls, Gravy, Barley salad, and Peanut Butter Chocolate bar...

… The regulars at the Three-Dot offered the usual cross-section of reviews on last week’s Variety Show, ranging from “great fun’ and ‘a wonderfully entertaining evening’ to ‘he/she should stick to singing in the shower’ and ‘you’d thing they would have rehearsed first’. It is, what it is - a good wholesome night out, particularly for families, and if you go with that in mind it will be a positive experience and the nay-sayers should probably stay away…
… Whinery News - Shame on the winery that recently closed its doors for good but did not inform their employee until the day it happened that they were out of work after seven years of loyal service… Some folks have no class despite all of the pretence…
… Winery News - On a brighter note, I am somewhat reliably informed that founder of Breggo Cellars on Hwy 128, Doug ‘Sorbet’ Stewart, who sold that business a few years back and has been operating his own little winery next door in the form of Lichen Wines, will be moving back into the original space when Breggo (owned by Lede Vineyards of Napa) closes its doors for the last time sometime soon and leaves the Valley... And is that VanandAnne’s Witching Stick Winery that is moving into the tasting room in downtown Philo? The one currently occupied by Lula Cellars - who have been trying to move into a new tasting room at the end of Guntley Road next to Handley Cellars for some time… It’s all happening around here, and by my current count, assuming all this is true, there will be 28 tasting rooms in the Valley as we move into the spring and on to what will hopefully be a prosperous summer for one and all…
… So the deadline has passed and it’s too late if anyone was thinking of officially challenging incumbent Ton Allman for the position of County Sheriff in November’s election… The same applies to District Attorney C. David Eyster and our own 5th District Supervisor Dan Hamburg… All three are unopposed - surely not a good thing in a civilized society no matter how good a job the majority of folks may think they are doing?... If only A.V.A. Supreme Leader Bruce Anderson, Captain Major Scaramella, and yours truly, had thought of this earlier???...
… From our 3-Dot regular, The Old Buzzard, comes another in his insightful series – ‘Signs that the Apocalypse is Approaching’… Buzzard reports, “If the Apocalypse is going to get here anytime soon, during this current rainy season perhaps, then I know of a couple of gentlemen who will know exactly what to do with themselves in such a scenario. I overheard this little interchange in town last Sunday afternoon as the rains came down. One asked the other, “Oh, what to do on a rainy afternoon in Anderson Valley?’ To which his friend replied without any hesitation, ‘Smoke weed and hang out in a hot tub’… I guess it’s as good a plan as any other should these two find themselves unprepared…

Well now I think it’s time to take my leave… So, until we talk again – ‘Keep the Faith’; be careful out there; stay out of the ditches; think good thoughts; and may your god go with you… Oh, and of course, one final request, “Let us prey”… Humbly yours, Turkey Vulture…

A Tramp-like Bird of Prey Abroad
by Markey Twulture

Greetings one and all – if you are sitting comfortably then I shall begin… The ‘misbehaving’ in the Valley over the past few weeks should probably now be curtailed, as by the time you read this I will be flying over A.V., to resume my observations and report on any discretions!… Before I get back in the skies, however, here is a brief column informing you of some upcoming events…
Public Service Announcements (P.S.A.’s)… Calendars and pens at the ready… #466 - The Variety Show will take place at The Grange this coming Friday/Saturday, March 7/8. As always, it will be a fun evening for families and not so much fun for curmudgeonly birds of prey. With that in mind I can only comment that it is important to remember it is a ‘variety’ show, not necessarily a ‘talent’ show; although many talented folks will be on stage of course… #467 - The Vets from the Mendocino Animal Hospital will be in town at the A.V. Farm on just one occasion this month - Thursday, March 13. Call 462-8833 for further details. They set up at the AV Farm Supply from 2pm to 3.30pm and to avoid a line perhaps go around 3pm - you will definitely be seen. New customers and their pets are always welcome… #468 - It’s nearly that time again - St. Patrick’s Day! The Senior Center Dinner to celebrate the occasion is on Saturday, March 15 in the Apple Hall in Boonville with a happy hour at 5.30pm and dinner served at 6.30pm. Call 895-3609 for further details…
As a bonus P.S.A. here is the menu for the next week at the Senior Center at the Veterans Hall in Boonville… The Center asks for a $6 donation from Seniors for both lunches and dinners and charges $7 for Non-Seniors for lunches and $8 for the dinners… Tomorrow, Thursday, March 6, the lunch, always served by Marti Titus and her crew at 12.15pm, will be General Tso Chicken, Pasta, Cabbage, Asian Slaw, Wheat Berry Salad, and Pineapple Dream Cake for dessert … Then, next Tuesday evening, March 11 at 6pm, the dinner will feature Chicken Thighs with Spinach, Brown Rice, Raspberry Gelatin, Broccoli Salad, Garlic Bread, and Brownies & Ice Cream. As this is the 2nd Tuesday of the month, dinner will be followed by Bingo at 7pm. Hopefully you will be able to attend, and remember – ALL ages are welcome! Hope to see you there…
As I leave these shores and head back to Nor Cal, the topics under discussion on the streets and in the pubs throughout the land currently include: the increasing Russian involvement in the Ukraine; the Conservative Party in power here in the UK are trying to win popularity by claiming to be the party of the workers - something that will be impossible to pull off; the young female serial killer who laughed when sentenced to life without parole; the manager of a top professional soccer club head-butting a player on the opposing team; the inevitable discussion about the possible inclement weather for the Oscar ceremony along with the possibilities of Oscar winning Brit films, and the healthy reasons to drink two pints of beer a day…..
Well now I think it’s time to take my leave, So, until we talk again – ‘Keep the Faith’; be careful out there; stay out of the ditches; think good thoughts; and may your god go with you… Oh, and of course, one final request, “Let us prey”… Humbly yours, Turkey Vulture…
